Today, we bid farewell to Santo Domingo and embark on a journey through the Dominican Republic's diverse landscapes. Our adventure begins with a visit to the country's largest farmers' market in the north of Santo Domingo. Here, you'll experience a riot of colors, aromas, and flavors as local farmers showcase their fresh produce and artisanal goods.

As we leave the bustling market behind, our journey continues through the lush Cibao Valley, often called the "breadbasket of the Dominican Republic" for its fertile soil and bountiful harvests. Watch as the landscape transforms from rolling hills to dramatic mountains as we ascend into the heart of the Dominican Alps.

Our destination is the mountain retreat of Jarabacoa, nestled high in the Dominican Alps. Known for its cool climate and breathtaking scenery, Jarabacoa offers a refreshing contrast to the tropical heat of the coast.

After a quick lunch break to refuel, prepare for the highlight of your day – the awe-inspiring Jimenoa waterfall!   • Explore mysterious caves adorned with pre-Columbian paintings and engravings, offering a glimpse into the island's ancient past
  • Navigate through lush mangrove forests, home to a diverse array of wildlife
